The Tinted 7 Color Gauge Series

GlowShift’s Tinted 7 Color Gauge Series comes standard with features including a black gauge face, magnified tinted lens and illuminated red needle. Whether your gauge is on or off, it will look amazing courtesy of this tinted lens feature which is at the heart of the series and gives your gauge a unique, stealth-like appearance. Stepper motor technology gives this pyrometer gauge the perfect combination of extremely accurate gauge readings along with incredibly smooth needle movement. The Tinted 7 Color Gauge Series includes the ultra-bright LED solid color modes Blue, Green, Red, Teal, Yellow, Purple and White. Also included is GlowShift’s 7 Color Lighting System which allows you to select and change the color of your gauge lighting display by simply pressing the button located along the front of the gauge. With the 7 Solid Color Settings and 2 Color Cycle Modes that utilize all of the radiant LED colors, you can customize the color of this EGT pyrometer gauge and add your own personal touch and style to the inside of your vehicle. Plus with the Color Memory option, you won’t have to reset the color of your gauge every time you turn on your vehicle. Your gauge will reflect your most recent color setting the next time it is active. By connecting the orange wire of your gauge to the factory headlight switch, you’ll be able to dim your gauge 30% when your headlights are turned on to reduce the brightness of your gauges while driving at night.

Why Do I Need A 1500 EGT Gauge?

An EGT exhaust gas temperature gauge is considered one of the most important turbo diesel truck gauges, especially since excessive exhaust gas temperature can cause severe damage to a diesel turbo engine. EGT Pyrometer gauges for trucks with readings up to 1500° correspond to most diesel trucks, with this gauge typically being enough to cover the range regardless of the size of the diesel engine. Exceptions would be big turbo builds with a lot of fuel, and some race truck applications would also require higher readouts because of how the truck runs. The 1500 is even designed for larger diesel truck engines that are traveling longer distances and towing heavy loads: factors which can at times put more stress on the engine and generate higher exhaust gas temperatures.

Pyrometer EGT Gauge Install Parts

This EGT gauge kit comes with everything required for installation, and the probe and power connections are made utilizing seamless Plug and Play Connectivity to make the process even easier. Included is a ⅛-27 NPT Type K Thermocouple EGT Probe with Waterproof Connector that features 3’ of steel braided cable and ⅛-27 NPT threads, and installs directly to the exhaust manifold using GlowShift’s Drill & Tap Kit. This gauge also comes with a 2’ power harness, and 6’ steel braided sensor harness with waterproof connector that plugs into the connector of the probe for a total of 9’ of available wire, protecting the connection from any water or moisture. Additionally, you’ll receive a Gauge Visor, mounting hardware and installation instructions as part of this gauge package.
