GlowShift-Tinted 7 Color 2400F Exhaust Gas Temperature Gauge

GlowShift’s Tinted 7 Color Series 2400° F Pyrometer EGT Gauge is essential for any gas or diesel powered vehicle that has either a stock or aftermarket turbo or supercharger. This gauge allows you to closely monitor your engine temperature, making sure that it is not running too hot which could potentially result in engine damage. With simple Plug and Play connectors for the power and sensor harnesses, this exhaust gas temperature gauge will effectively take readings from 0 to 2400° Fahrenheit.

The Tinted 7 Color Gauge Series
GlowShift’s Tinted 7 Color Gauge Series comes standard with features including a black gauge face, magnified tinted lens and illuminated red needle. Whether your gauge is on or off, it will look amazing courtesy of this tinted lens feature which is at the heart of the series and gives your gauge a unique, stealth-like appearance. Stepper motor technology gives this pyrometer gauge the perfect combination of extremely accurate gauge readings along with incredibly smooth needle movement. The Tinted 7 Color Gauge Series includes the ultra-bright LED solid color modes Blue, Green, Red, Teal, Yellow, Purple and White. Also included is GlowShift’s 7 Color Lighting System which allows you to select and change the color of your gauge lighting display by simply pressing the button located along the front of the gauge. With the 7 Solid Color Settings and 2 Color Cycle Modes that utilize all of the radiant LED colors, you can customize the color of this EGT pyrometer gauge and add your own personal touch and style to the inside of your vehicle. Plus with the Color Memory option, you won’t have to reset the color of your gauge every time you turn on your vehicle. Your gauge will reflect your most recent color setting the next time it is active. By connecting the orange wire of your gauge to the factory headlight switch, you’ll be able to dim your gauge 30% when your headlights are turned on to reduce the brightness of your gauges while driving at night.

Why Do I Need A 2400 EGT Gauge?
While 1500° EGT gauges are used for many diesel trucks, the 2400° gauge is for diesels that need extra monitoring power where the 1500° range isn’t enough. This is often seen with modified turbo diesels including race trucks and pulling trucks. Examples are big turbo builds with a lot of fuel, and some race truck applications that require higher readouts because of how the truck runs.

2400 EGT exhaust gas temperature gauges are also used for gas engine applications, most commonly on trucks. While they can be used on cars, it is not very common except for situations involving turbo cars, for example, which will have the biggest need for an EGT gauge since the turbo runs off of the exhaust.

These gauges are designed to monitor much higher exhaust gas temperature readings, often in scenarios where much greater amounts of stress are being placed on your engine. Gas engines will burn hotter than diesel engines, causing the exhaust to become hotter as well. The 2400 also applies more to racing-based and similar applications where you’re looking to put a much greater deal of stress on your engine. In this case, the 2400 is ideal in ensuring that your engine is operating at full capacity and remaining within proper parameters.

Another reason to install a 2400 involves the size of the exhaust. Typically: the bigger the exhaust, the cooler it will run. This factor causes gas applications to run hotter because the exhaust in most cases is smaller than a diesel exhaust.
